What you can expect

What you can expect?

  • The intake & our conversation

For your first acupuncture appointment I make extra time, so we can get to know each other well. During this appointment we do an extensive intake in my practice room, on a walk or over lunch, whatever works best for you. There's plenty of room to talk through your story: which symptoms you have, what you want to change and what you've already tried.

  • Sending info beforehand (optional)

If you'd like, you can send me additional information by email beforehand. I can then go through it calmly and we can dive deeper into the core of your symptoms during the intake.

  • Your tailored treatment plan

After our conversation I work out a tailored treatment plan within 1 to 2 days. I explain what I see in your pattern according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which approach fits and how often I expect to see you. That way you know in advance what to expect and can co-decide on the steps we take.

  • The acupuncture session

Then we start with the first acupuncture session. You lie comfortably on the treatment table and I take time to explain what I'm doing. The needles stay in for about 30 minutes on average; many people experience this as a moment of calm and deep relaxation. After the session you can quietly get up and head home.

  • Follow-up appointments

Depending on the diagnosis and treatment plan we schedule a follow-up. At each session we look at what is changing in your symptoms and energy, so we can adjust the course where needed.
